Politician's Hell

In the 60’s and 80’s, many South American countries had political and economic crysis, resulting in many dictatorship governments. At this period, many politicians who were against the dictatorship and tried to support the existence of political parties would be tortured or murdered
There are many inactive prisons that used to have many politics from these countries around the world, but the one wich is known to be the most brutal of all is localized in a pretty isolated area of Colonia Del Sacramento, in Uruguay. Its fame was only known by some dictators and the prisioners themselves.
There are many ways to get there, and one of the most commonly used ways was by an area of considerable distance from the villagers of Colonia, in a place where nobody has ever noticed its presence. Barely anyone has ever exited that place other than soldiers and military officers, and the only chance you’d ever see someone exiting would be some time after midnight.
The prison started to be built this place since the first day of dictatorship in Uruguay, in the year of 1973. The prison was built by the prisioners themselves, with some help of the Uruguay dictatorship, and they were forced to do it even with no skill at all. It took 3 months to finish it. While it still was in construction, the politicans would have to stay there and try to survive by themselves. They had constant monitoring, and if someone tried to escape, he’d die anytime soon.
After finishing the underground prison, the politicians would have to stay there, without any noise at all. They had little recourses, and since not many jails were made, there would often have like 50 people in one place. The place was really dark, with almost no lighting, and the prisioners had little to do for a long period of time. Often, you’d see them just staring at the walls or trying to sleep. Behaviour troubles only started to appear after a few weeks or months. Some would try to scream for help, other would feel sick and suffer many diseases and others would go insane, doing obscene things with their partners or start acting like a crazy person.
The consequences of any bad behaviour would result in tourture, but the level of torture was defined by the person’s nationality. Since there were many politicians from many countries, the soldier that would execute the torture had instructions of how much level of pain he’s supposed to do, and each dictator created their own rules. Normally, Chile was the one who abused their politicians the most. Some say that some Chile politicians comited suicide after being tortured so many times in a row. After the punishment, some prisioners would have blood going all over the place, and rarely someone would help them. In a most critical situation, like having bad behaviour more than once, the prisioner would be executed.
This prison was known for those who survived as Politician’s Hell. The few people who survived escaped from there and were hidden for longs period of time, other survived when the Uruguay dictatorship ended,in 1985. Uruguay had no permission to control the prison, and nobody else did, because of lack of interest and for some countries already been free and use democracy as their government style.
Nowadays,it’s impossible to go there, since every possible entrance is blocked nowadays. The only things left from the main prison are a bunch of stones, blocking the entrance. Nobody mention this historical fact in order to hide from one of the most shameful things Uruguay has ever done.
